Thermal Imaging Camera
This is by far the most sought after piece of equipment for ghost hunting.
A thermal imaging camera forms an image using infrared radiation which means that it can distinguish the difference between hot and cold spots based on the colors it assigns to different levels of infrared radiation.
Where a thermal imaging camera becomes important is when paranormal entities gather energy from the air around them and form hot and cold spots that are not otherwise explainable.
CORPS uses a thermal imaging camera on it's investigations for capturing anomalies in the infrared spectrum. We use a FLIR brand camera because of the reputation of the FLIR company. They make great products which are very durable.
To the left is a sample image taken from our FLIR camera. You can see that the heat loss from a person is around the eyes.
Typically a thermal imaging camera can only see the heat on solid objects and cannot see through glass. For unknown reasons however, paranormal entities have been able to emulate a solid object while manifesting. Some people refute this but honestly, the paranormal is just that, anything but normal.
